Day 1: VIENNA embarkation

Embark your river cruise luxury ship in Vienna in the afternoon. Enjoy Captain’s welcome cocktail and dinner on board followed by a concert. The ship remains moored in Vienna for overnight, and evening is at your leisure. Explore Vienna and immerse in the Christmas spirit strolling through famous Vienna’s Christmas Market.

Day 2: Vienna city tour and Christmas Markets

Today we have a full day ahead of us to enjoy Vienna. You may choose from variety of optional excursion or admire Vienna elegance on your own and explore Vienna Christmas Markets. Consider an optional Vienna city tour and join a local guide for morning sightseeing  tour of Vienna. Enjoy Vienna’s Imperial architecture including the Hofburg Palace, the impressive Vienna Opera House, the majestic Ringstrasse, and the St. Stephen’s Cathedral. In the afternoon you may join an optional excursion to the opulent Schoenbrunn Palace. Explore Schonbrunn’s rooms  on our guided visit . Visit Vienna’s most scenic Christmas Market in front of the Schonbrunn Palace. With concerts, the scent of mulled wine, gingerbread and beautiful Christmas tree , you can’t help being in a festive mood.

Day 3: Cruise Wachau Valley and Melk

In the morning, your floating premium hotel reaches the UNESCO World Natural Heritage region of the Wachau. Your ship docks in Melk/Emmersdorf, where you can join an excursion to Melk Abbey and Durnstein. At the end of the excursion, defy the weather and join us for a mug of warming mulled wine, after which you will return to your ship.

The rest of the day is spent on board, cruising through the romantic Wachau Valley, dotted with magnificent castles and small riverside towns. You will have a wonderful view of the passing winter landscapes as your cruise ship travels towards Passau.

Day 4: Passau and Bavarian Christmas markets

Morning arrival at the historical Bavarian city of Passau, which lies at the confluence of three rivers. Enjoy optional walking tour of Passau with local guide, exploring the ornate Baroque architecture, St. Stephen’s Cathedral – home to Europe’s largest church organ and a picturesque river promenade. After the tour there is free time to visit local Christmas Market. Handmade ornaments and Christmas tree decorations, toys, marionettes,and other traditional handicraft items are awaiting our selection to take home and put under the Christmas tree.

Early this evening your ship will depart this lovely city and head towards Regensburg.

Day 5: Regensburg  Christmas markets

After a leisurely morning cruising along  Danube River, we arrive in Regensburg. You may choose optional Regensburg guided city tour and explore historic center of Regensburg  with your local guide.

After lunch, explore Regensburg Christmas Markets on your own. Revel in the festive pre-Christmas atmosphere filled with the aroma of gingerbread, and stalls filled with local handicrafts.  The captain invites you to join him at an elegant Gala Dinner on board, while your ship continues its journey later this evening.

Day 6:  Nuremberg and Germany’s oldest Christmas markets

After lunch, you arrive in the Bavarian town of Roth, where the city tour of Nuremberg starts. The tour will take you to the most significant monuments and sights in picturesque Nuremberg. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Nuremberg’s Christmas Market, the oldest and most famous Christmas market in Germany. Taste the world-famous Nuremberg lebkuchen (gingerbread) before returning to your ship, which will be waiting for you in the Nuremberg harbor. Your ship remains in Nuremberg for the overnight.

Day 7: Nuremberg disembarkation

Your Cruise comes to the end this morning as you disembark in Nuremberg with wonderful memories of the German and Austrian Christmas Markets. After breakfast on board optional transfer to Nuremberg or Munich Airport for your flight back home.
