New Year’s Danube cruise itinerary : 29 December – 04 January
Day 1: 29 December , Arrival in Munich – Passau
Arrival at Munich airport and transfer to Passau. Embarkation starts at 4pm. Enjoy a welcome cocktail on board before your Welcome dinner. Ship departs toward Vienna at 6pm.
Day 2: 30 December , Cruise to Vienna
Early afternoon arrival in Vienna. Consider an optional Vienna city tour and join a local guide for sightseeing tour of Vienna. Enjoy Vienna’s Imperial architecture including the Hofburg Palace, the impressive Vienna Opera House, the majestic Ringstrasse, and the St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The ship leaves Vienna in late afternoon and sails toward Budapest.
Day 3: 31 December , New Years Eve on board in Budapest
Arrival in Budapest at lunch time. This afternoon you can join Budapest city sightseeing tour, or you can look around Budapest at your own pace. In the evening enjoy gala New Year program on board while cruising on the Danube River in Budapest.
Day 4: 01 January , Cruise from Budapest to Bratislava
The morning of New Year’s Day is at your disposal, allowing you to enjoy it as you wish. At lunch time, your ship leaves Budapest and we cruise to the capital of Slovakia.
Day 5: 02 January , Cruise Bratislava
This morning get to know this impressive Danube city during the course of a sightseeing trip in a comfortable tour bus, which will take you to the famous castle hill and the picturesque old town. An elegant Captain’s Gala Dinner awaits you in the evening, and in the meantime, your floating premium hotel weighs anchor and returns to Austria, cruising Wachau Valley.
Day 6: 03 January , Cruise to Wachau . Melk
Spend the morning on board, enjoying the impressive views of the passing winter landscapes while your ship travels downriver into the UNESCO World Natural Heritage region of the Wachau. At midday you will reach Melk/Emmersdorf, where you have the opportunity of joining an excursion to Melk Abbey and Dürnstein. At the end of the excursion you will have the opportunity to sample some of the famous Wachau wines. Late afternoon return to your ship and begin the last stage of your cruise.
Day 7: 04 January , Passau disembarkation
After breakfast on board , you disembark in Passau. The crew wishes you a pleasant homeward journey and all the best for the coming year!
Private transfer to Munich Airport for your flight back home, or you may choose to continue your journey with us to the beautiful city of Prague.
